The Urban Collective is a youth music project that works with young people, living in urban regeneration areas, to write, record and promote their own album for an independent release under expert professional guidance. ECT is supporting the roll-out of four projects across the UK, linking up with ECT grantees in Hull, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast.
The British Urban Collective will give real opportunities to the participants and should help contribute to resolving some of the issues that young people in these cities face, like gangs and territorialism. It will also give them a real insight to the music industry, and potential opportunities within it, as well as a springboard beyond the music industry.
