St. Mark's Family Centre in Mitcham, South London, offers the type of support most of us get from friends and family—a listening ear, advice, fun and friendship. It helps 600 people each year, mainly through work in its premises in the heart of the community. The charity draws people into the centre with popular activities like cooking on a budget and family workshops. Over time, it develops trust and can identify and help people to solve problems they face.
